Guangzhou Design Week was founded in 2006 as the first design week event in China. lt has been jointly endorsed and promoted by lFl, ICSID and lCOGRADA since 2007. After 20 years’development, Guangzhou Design Week has grown into the premier design event in Asia as well as a platform for resources integration, known for connecting designers around the world as well as value creation.
Adhered to the operating principle “global partnership” , Guangzhou Design Week has expanded into a partnership federation network covering 230+ cities in over 40 countries and over 4000 media partnerships in the global. And so far, it has organized a series of nation-leading design activities including design fair, award, forum and study tour, which has been acknowledged as “Design Destination” .
This year, Guangzhou Design Week is celebrating its 20th anniversary under the theme “5G20″ , a year-long celebration featuring new curation, master forum and crossovers. To mark the 20th Anniversary of the GZDW, we organized celebratory events, these included designers’ curation, branding curation, supply chain’s curation, master forum and crossover performances that celebrated its “Twentieth” as a homophone for “I love you”( 我爱你, wǒ ài nǐ ), a popular way to express affection.
