[Text as submitted by architect] The project is located in Sundiao Bay, a famous straight scenic spot in the eastern part of Daya Bay, Huizhou City. “Sundiao” is taken from the Xun Gua of the Eight Trigrams, which means peace and good fortune, and also represents the meaning of wind. The wind through the jungle, cloudy, diffused in the mountains and the sea, anonymous beauty in the world. The hotel is hidden in the mountains and forests, one side of the jungle is verdant and upright, and the other side is the romantic purity of the sea. Every mountain, every water, every grass and every tree is a gift of nature, giving the designer unlimited reverie.

In the details of the design, the value of life is gently knocked in the summer wood, the new language of the empty mountain, and the insects’ singing, so that travellers can see everything between their eyes, feel the vitality of all things, and breathe freely. The breath of nature runs through every corner of the hotel, and the beauty of the mountains is close at hand. The hotel lobby retains the original building’s pitched roof structure, taking on the rugged momentum of the mountains and forests, and the main body of the building has a high steel structure as its base, growing upwards like a jungle in the mountains.

The culture of wood is the material sentiment of the development of Chinese civilization. With wood colour as the main tone, it is set off with the landscape, allowing the design to return to the natural, pure and simple state of art. The extension of space and the permeability of the north and south are extremely enthusiastic to incorporate the warm sunlight and a wider view. A glimpse of the setting sun between the mountains and the sea is like looking at the light at the end of the world where the water and the sky meet. A journey through the landscape, all the way to earth.

All beings are searching and searching for a deeply hidden mountain forest that can accommodate all the edges of life and make a comfortable dream. Not just a soft bed, but a flower and a scene, is a grass and a tree, is a pillow moon sleep, embrace the floating light of the mountains and colours of the comfortable time. When the sound of birdsong in the forest wakes up in the morning, push the window and you will see the scenery, birds flying towards the eaves and clouds coming out of the window.
