Sabrina Mehjabeen Ratree
Sabrina Mehjabeen Ratree is an architect and co-founder of Studio SHAPE Consults, with an academic and professional interest in the relationship between people, place, environment, and everyday life. She holds an M.Arch specializing in Built Environment and Human Behavior, which has shaped her approach to architecture as both a spatial and research-driven discipline.
Her professional practice encompasses architectural design, interior design, residential projects, hospitality, landscape integration, and community-oriented design, with a focus on creating contextual and meaningful spatial experiences. Alongside practice, she has engaged in research involving urban accessibility, neighborhood built environments, children’s access to parks, pedestrian movement, and traffic analysis, exploring how evidence and human behavior can inform design decisions.
As a LEED Green Associate, she is particularly interested in sustainable and climate-responsive architecture, incorporating landscape, daylight, natural ventilation, and environmental strategies into her work.
Through both practice and research, Sabrina aims to create architecture that is contextual, environmentally responsive, and grounded in human experience.
Practice Ideology
Sabrina Mehjabeen Ratree believes architecture begins with an understanding of people, place, and context. Her practice is guided by the idea that good architecture does not simply occupy a site, but grows from its climate, landscape, culture, and everyday patterns of life.
Her inspiration comes from observing how people interact with their surroundings and how simple spatial decisions can influence comfort, behavior, and experience. This has led her to approach architectural and interior design through a combination of research, observation, and practical understanding, with particular attention to natural light, ventilation, circulation, materiality, landscape, accessibility, and the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Her academic background in Built Environment and Human Behavior has further strengthened her interest in evidence-based design. Research on accessibility, pedestrian movement, traffic patterns, and human interaction with the built environment informs her understanding of architecture beyond the individual building.
Sustainability is also an integral part of her practice. As a LEED Green Associate, she aims to incorporate climate-responsive and environmentally conscious strategies as an inherent part of the design process rather than as an additional layer.
Through her practice, she seeks to create architecture that is contextual, functional, sustainable, and emotionally meaningful. Her goal is not to follow a fixed architectural language, but to develop thoughtful solutions that respond genuinely to each project, creating spaces that feel natural, enduring, and connected to everyday life.
