About Competition
ET CONTEST invites participants to submit ideas, visions and proposals for the architectural and landscape transformation of the former mining site of Sos Enattos in Sardinia.
The competition is part of a wide range of initiatives planned by ET WORKSHOP | BEYOND UNDERGROUND, promoted by the University of Cagliari – DICAAR in agreement with the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, in support of the coordination and promotion of the Sos Enattos (Lula) site’s bid to host the Einstein Telescope research infrastructure.
ET CONTEST aims to gather ideas and project proposals that interpret the relationship between science, territory and design, with particular attention to the cultural, social and landscape dimensions of the contexts involved.
Proposals should focus on defining the surface design of the Einstein Telescope, which should envisage a large-scale transformation scenario (masterplan) and provide some explicit indications through graphic elaborations and suggestions.
The contest expects to receive proposals for settlements capable of envisaging a scenario of transformation of this territory through an open dialogue with its morphological, environmental and landscape characteristics.
The competition is open to students of architecture, engineering, design and related courses, as well as young graduates, scholars, researchers and professionals, either individually or in groups, who are under 41 years of age on the closing date of the contest (in the case of groups, this requirement applies only to the group leader).
