Swedish design studio Form Us With Love (FUWL) hosts Testing Grounds Showroom?, its most ambitious showcase to date.
Co-founded by Jonas Pettersson and John Löfgren in 2005, FUWL believes the collaborative platform for design is more relevant than ever, following the move by Stockholm Design Week and Stockholm Furniture Fair, to a bi-annual format. This shift in the global design calendar has prompted many local studios and brands to build new momentum outside of the traditional fair cycle.
Testing Grounds Showroom?
The annual Testing Grounds event — a creative showcase for the work of FUWL — allows visitors to experience design in context. Intimate happenings within the immersive hub provide space for discourse, commercial opportunity, and connection between the studio, its partnering brands, and a wider design community.
In 2026, Testing Grounds expands from a week-long event to run for four months, taking the form of a temporary showroom and living space. Previous iterations have included a co-working lab, an experimental furniture installation for Samsung, and, in 2025, a fully functioning bistro.
For Testing Grounds Showroom?, FUWL reveals a new textile collection developed in collaboration with ByBorre, alongside new acoustic designs for BAUX. These are previewed alongside ongoing collaborations with Savo, String Furniture, Tarkett and Forming Function.
Each brand and design is integrated into the functioning space, across areas for work, process and gatherings. Visitors are invited to consider what a showroom is today. Often perceived as static or outdated, the project explores how, in a fast-changing industry, new formats can attract and engage tomorrow’s A&D community.
A dedicated programme of talks, live events, and workshops is curated by FUWL in collaboration with Playground to explore the overarching question — Showroom? And explore themes such as colour accuracy in digital workflows, how sample libraries have transitioned to living labs and what role sound, technology and texture play in communicating brand value.
