BAYA Studios
Ranjith graduated from Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan, India, in 2005. His early career was spent working with Ar. Dean D’Cruz in Goa, completing a number of widely published works. Later he moved to Bangalore to work with Chandavarkar and Thacker (CnT), working on a number of prestigious projects. He established his own architectural practice, Bayastudios, in 2013, marking the start of a new venture. Subsequently, he collaborated with Ar. Dean D’Cruz on notable projects in Southern India.
Practice Ideology
‘Bayastudios’ is an established architectural firm based in Bengaluru, led by a team of young and dynamic professionals. Practice works on projects that vary in scale from large public buildings to houses for individual clients.
Design activity within the practice is characterised by the open studio environment where projects are explored to research, physical and digital model-making, discussion and traditional drawing techniques. Models and visualizations are used as a primary means of investigation for the understanding of practice of construction technology and to carefully resolve the details.
Design Philosophy: The design process for each project is distinct, the practice aims to imbue each work with a means to endure, to grow old and achieve longevity through a sense of dignity, robustness and cultural relevance.
Our architectural work is characterised by an exceptional sensitivity to site conditions, local contexts and climatic conditions. We also encourage the adoption of local construction technology and materials in our process of design.
We believe that each design is an experience and by weaving natural elements into our designs, we attempt to keep people in touch with nature.
