Practice Ideology

Behet Bondzio Lin Architekten is an interdisciplinary, intercultural, multi-location architecture firm based in Germany and Taiwan with offices in Münster, Leipzig, Taipei and Taichung City.

Three core concepts have driven the practice through a high variety of scales and typologies for more than 20 years, craftsmanship, materiality and cooperation. They pursue architectural designs that return to the spirit of vernacular craftsmanship, and regard architecture as an objective and innovative extension of traditional human, social and cultural integration. An architecture that constructs timeless authenticity resisting the social constructs.

Their creative thinking departs from the understanding of the materiality of construction elements and the respect for the objective conditions of the materials. Its traditional value, its origin and its significance as a natural resource or its required craftsmanship.

They see architectural value redefined as the presence of collective and cooperative dignity. Their work not only portrays the view of the architect but rather an interdisciplinary perspective that represents the cohesive cooperation of all parties involved. An architectural practice where the construction process and acknowledgement of the building systems become the essence of the design.
