Practice Ideology
Carroccera is a new movement of artists, architects and scientists that forge new ideas for living. Every year we seek residents and collaborators to envision a plan for the development of the Carroccera property, exploring the imposed boundaries between the human and the natural; to work toward a forgotten synergy.
Our mental health and the health of the planet is rapidly deteriorating, at an exponential rate. We humans have created tools and systems to provide us supposed safety and comfort, systems that distance us from our primal environment, leading to the abuse of its resources and neglect of its well-being.
In order to reconnect with our natural systems and live in balance with them, as a part of a larger ecosystem, we propose to radically reimagine and redesign the way we live today by the means of:
– Restoring and enhancing biodiversity
– Regenerating abandoned and neglected plots of land, challenging broken systems of land management
– Rebuilding and experimenting with new ways to interact and inhabit the land
– Inspiring and sharing the resulting experiences and research with a diverse audience to challenge our ways of living and the nature-culture divide
Team: We are a small but very enthusiastic team of artists, architects and ecologists with diverse backgrounds and experiences brought together by a common goal of Carroccera.
Established in 2022, we find ourselves at the initial stages of our journey, anticipating the gradual evolution of our team over time into a genuine collaborative movement. Together, we navigate new paths with a collective commitment and excitement to make a change.
