Ar. Devansshi H. Shrof
Ar. Devansshi H. Shrof, founder of Ikshhana Design Studio, is a passionate architect with an innate flair for leadership, creativity, and management. A graduate from SCET – VNSGU, Surat, Devansshi has always been drawn to both creativity and leadership—right from leading student councils in school to becoming the President of the Student Council at her architecture college.
Her professional journey includes working with renowned firms like Group7 Architects, Mumbai, and Neogenesis + Studi0261, Surat. She then embarked on an independent path—freelancing alongside a collaborative stint with a bespoke furniture studio. In 2023, she founded Ikshhana Design Studio—an emerging, thoughtful practice rooted in time-honoured values yet open to fresh, modern expressions.
Her work has been featured on notable platforms including Elle Decor India, The Architect’s Diary, FOIAD, Ideal Home and Garden, Home Publication, Archello, House of Ekam, TAD 50, TDC, The Architects & Interiors India, ArchDiaries, and Volume Zero.
In 2025, she was honoured as Most Trusted and Rising Architect of Gujarat, and Ikshhana Design Studio received recognition for Outstanding Consultancy in Residential Category, Gujarat—both awarded by the Architecture & Interior Design Excellence Awards in Bangalore. She is also an active member of IIID Surat and IIA Surat.
Practice Ideology
Founded in 2023, Ikshhana is a progressive and dynamic studio with a strong belief in crafting a better built environment. Our approach blends timeless principles with contemporary thinking, allowing each project to evolve organically with its context, purpose, and people at the heart of it. Whether it’s architectural design, interior design, furniture detailing, or spatial consultancy, our goal is to offer holistic solutions that address both the tangible and intangible aspects of design.
We approach each project as a conversation between the site, the client’s lifestyle, and our design sensibilities. The process is deeply collaborative, where ideas are nurtured with research, dialogue, and constant evolution. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model; instead, we work towards creating concepts that are bespoke, humane, and grounded in their context both culturally and climatically.
Our passion for rooting innovation in tradition. While we love experimenting with materials, layouts, and detailing, we equally value the rudiment of those age old design truths that lend character and longevity to spaces. Sustainability for us isn’t just about green practices, but also about designing spaces that age well, adapt over time, and continue to feel relevant and timeless.
The studio’s design language celebrates modern minimalism, tactile materiality, and a strong sense of space and light balanced with warmth and subtle identity. From urban residences to curated furniture pieces, each project is a reflection of thoughtfulness and integrity.
As a practice, we also remain committed to engaging with the larger design community, learning continuously, and contributing meaningfully. At Ikshhana,design is not just a profession, it’s a conscious responsibility to improve the everyday experiences of people through honest, layered, and enduring design.
