Jan Žaloudek
Practice Ideology
Jan Žaloudek studied architecture at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in the studios of Jindřich Smetana and Jan Šépka. During his studies, he gained experience at the School of Visual Arts in New York and through other academic internships. He defines himself as an artistically oriented architect with a flair for designing residential buildings and interiors. In 2020, he established his own architectural studio, focusing on projects of various scales for private clients.
In his work, Žaloudek strives to connect with the genius loci of each location, aligning it with the needs of his clients to create authentic architecture that sensitively responds to its context. He also specializes in comprehensive interior design, firmly believing that the quality of a living space profoundly impacts the lives of its inhabitants. His approach to architecture is shaped by a broader consideration of the philosophy of living, healthy lifestyles, and overall well-being.
Art plays a vital role in his life, influencing his appreciation for beauty and harmony, which is evident in his work. In his projects, Žaloudek collaborates with contemporary artists specializing in fine and applied arts, seeking to create a dialogue between their contributions and his architectural vision. This synergy often results in cohesive artistic compositions where architecture becomes a total work of art.
