Rohit Walimbe
Rohit holds a Masters in Architecture from the University of Buffalo and a Bachelor’s degree from Mumbai’s Sir J.J. College of Architecture. At TAC, he has been leading several architecture and interior design projects in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors in Mumbai, Ahmednagar, Raigadh, Ratnagiri, and Pune. Rohit is a strong architectural and interior planner and has gathered extensive experience in hospitality, commercial, and residential projects during his time spent in New York City. He is the chief executor for all their projects.
Manasvi Bachhav
Manasvi holds a Master’s in Urban Design from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a Bachelor’s degree from Mumbai’s Sir J.J. College of Architecture. She leads projects of various scales and complexities in Nasik, Mumbai, and Pune. She has a keen interest in urban conservation and landscape design. Her knowledge of urban and environmental issues allows her to bring creative and sustainable solutions to all their designs. Manasvi is the chief designer and infuses bold ideas into every project, large or small.
Kulsum Tambawala
Kulsum has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Mumbai’s Sir J.J. College of Architecture. She leads projects in Mumbai, Alibaug, and Pune. She has a wealth of experience from some of the best architectural practices in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Auroville. Her design values embody natural building techniques and traditional crafts used within contemporary contexts. Her technical expertise and industry affiliations enable her to implement ideas of holistic and sustainable development.
Practice Ideology
TAC is a multi-disciplinary design studio based in Mumbai, India, founded in 2018 by Manasvi Bachhav, Kulsum Tambawala, and Rohit Walimbe. TAC draws inspiration from site contexts, local ecologies, and composite construction techniques, inducing play, vibrancy, and functionality effectively through power-packed minimalist interventions. Their comprehensive approach to utility, scale, and materiality, paired with meticulous landscape design, aims to induce a layered and timeless character to each space they imagine. At TAC, they explore design at multiple scales, ranging from private family homes, resorts, urban design, and industrial buildings to residential and office interior design and furniture. Their current work includes multiple private farmhouse and vacation home constructions, industrial construction, commercial, educational, and residential interior projects across Maharashtra.
They collaborate with construction professionals that share their commitment to exemplary planning, design, and execution. They consider their clients as their partners in creation and work closely with them to deliver innovative, customized end-to-end solutions for any budget or specialized needs. They seek to constantly push the limits to generate innovative solutions for the project constraints of every scale and size.
