Practice Ideology
WE Architecten creates designs with a distinctive character. The practice believes that good architecture inspires, evokes memories or offers views. A design is more than a solution, it has character that responds to a culture, a society and a context.
At the basis of every design lies a clear and strong idea. Central to this is the question and need of their client, but they also look further. Through design research, looking at an assignment from different angles, they often arrive at an idea outside the beaten track.
WE Architecten has a passion for designs with a strong character. Such a character can be extrovert, monumental, industrial or introvert, cuddly, seductive. The character comes from the idea; what story does this design want to tell. They believe that strong characters make buildings and their surroundings interesting because they inspire, you can love them or they can provoke discussion.
