Project Description

[Text as submitted by architect] An emotional and expressive approach in a 3BHK apartment in Rander, Surat was achieved over a span of 8 months for a nuclear family with discrete and distinct requisite. It is a 1650 sq ft apartment amidst the urban residential area.
While the designers decided to create an interior with dramatic effect, there was really nothing quite like a dark interior. Black and grey interior is surprisingly flexible too. The shadow palette added to the idea of aesthetics. Rooms looked cozier under the dark shades with shading, while the dark walls gave smaller spaces a blurred boundary that increased the sense of space.

This project interior is a fusion of shades and details. Huge window in the living room allows natural light that plays over the dark silhouettes in the room, and highlights a much lighter grey couch in the living room. Lighter accent cushions break the plain grey sofa, and compliment the pitch dark TV unit wall as well as the grey terrazzo floor.

The corner at the entrance is graced with comfortable reading chairs, small side table and library unit, making a cozy sitting nook. The minimalist kitchen is enhanced by a modern breakfast table which adds an element of brass to the space. The eccentric dining table with a backdrop of pitch-dark storage units is an eye-catching addition to the dining area.

The interior of the master bedroom features sections of mid grey against contrasting volumes of the deepest black. The entry of the light through the window brightens the room’s dark palette. The bespoke dressing table is fashioned into the corner of the room, elegantly styled to reflect the image of lounge chairs at the entrance of the room.
The lighting in the design is soft, illuminating only what’s necessary for practicality. In contrast to the entire dark interior the similar flooring and interior shades of the kid’s bedroom is different with the wall art which adds a slightly distinct essence to the project.
