Excerpt: Boji, a residence by Martin Gomez Arquitectos, was designed to take full advantage of the site and the richness of its surrounding landscape. Large windows invite abundant natural light, allowing the beauty of the surrounding landscape to permeate every corner of the home. The harmonious blend of materials not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also creates a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the space.

Project Description

[Text as submitted by architect] The idea of this medium-sized property in La Juanita was to design a residence that takes full advantage of its possibilities and the richness of the surrounding landscape: the woods, the beach and the sea. The access, conformed by several vertical and horizontal sections combined, highlights the internal garden that starts from the main staircase and a long water mirror, together with the access deck, results in a passage space from exterior to interior with very warm character.

In love with José Ignacio’s starry nights, one of the requirements of the project was that this sky be present in the house, for which a glass circulation connector was designed that joins both floors, filling all the spaces with light during the day and a blanket of stars at night. The double-height central space lightens the house. This sensation is enhanced by the numerous floor-to-ceiling vertical windows with parasols and lapacho enclosures that are permeable to the outside.

The recreational and rest area of the house was allocated at the back of the property, thus having a barbecue/low stove and a swimming pool surrounded by lapacho decks and framed by an unbeatable natural landscape. Simple and elegant Japanese referenced furniture was designed for the interiors. Same details can also be appreciated in the use of metal carpentry and black tops, combined with gray marble and natural wood on the doors.
