Excerpt: Camposanto Mapfre Chiclayo, designed by TERRITORIAL, redefines cemetery architecture with a compact building that houses essential facilities. The building, serving as a significant landmark, explores form, space, and structure, ensuring a cohesive connection between these elements. This approach allowed for smooth execution, emphasizing the importance of clearly defined components and their articulation.
Project Description

[Text as submitted by architect] The project aims to propose a new way of understanding cemetery architecture through a compact building that contains most of the equipment necessary for its operation. This building is located parallel to the main road, orienting the chapel towards Cerro El Reque, a significant landmark for the local community.

The architectural value of the project lies in its exploration of form and its relationship with space and structure. The connection between spatial exploration and structure made it possible to avoid changes during execution, highlighting the importance of identifying the building’s components and articulating them in a way that maintains design coherence.
