[Text as submitted by architect] The project is based on the premise of giving the house material honesty while preserving the local construction tradition. Located in the southern area of Zapotlán el Grande, the site’s physical conditions and surroundings still allow the use of traditional building methods.

The exposed red brick was handcrafted by local brickmakers and carefully laid by regional workers. A special mold was created to conceal the tie columns and bound beams. This not only enhances the continuous warmth of the brick but also provides exceptional thermal properties. The polished natural-colored concrete floors complement the brick, reinforcing the warm ambiance sought for the project.

Designed for a small family, the house is situated on an 8.00 x 20.00 m plot. The ground floor includes an open and continuous space integrating the living room, dining room, and kitchen—creating an intimate yet spacious environment. A bedroom with its own bathroom and an internal garden, along with a high-walled courtyard, provide natural lighting and ventilation while ensuring privacy for the residents.

The core of the house is marked by a lightweight-looking staircase with a metal structure and solid wood steps, leading to a TV lounge with a large window overlooking the patio. The upper floor also features two additional bedrooms and a shared bathroom, maintaining the same aesthetic and atmosphere throughout the house, including the facade’s walls and floors.
