Project Description

[Text as submitted by architect] Children are naturally active and go through a variety of emotional changes. What kind of spatial design can accommodate their freedom, courage, curiosity, and vitality?
Sò Studio partnered with the professional children’s sports brand moodytiger to translate children’s movement patterns into design language, creating a retail experience that is always “ready for movement,” fully embodying moodytiger’s brand philosophy and expert services.

Part 01 WAVY & MEANDER: The entrance design establishes the rhythm for the entire space. Through the designer’s artistry, the originally rigid metal panels start to ripple with a sense of fluidity.
The dynamic waves also appear on the display surface of one wall, where the undulating shapes of the panels create three-dimensional waves. These waves flow seamlessly with the ceiling, visually extending naturally. The gentle flow of the waves evokes imaginations of movement trajectories, like swimming in water, gliding through snow, or leaping on a trampoline, soaring into the air.

Part 02 TWIST & TILT: Breaking down the movement trajectories further, the panels push outward in layers like rippling water. The designer draws display inspiration from exercise equipment, placing a barbell horizontally on the panels. It can both display clothing and transform into a modular element that can be freely combined, becoming a prop for a fun activity.
Props give the space different functional attributes, extending a variety of usage scenarios and enabling a seamless transition between retail and sports environments. A child’s body serves as an antenna for exploring the world, while curiosity acts as a perpetual motion machine, continuously providing inspiration for design.

As they navigate the front area, they are drawn to a tent-shaped display prop. It resembles a treehouse from a fairy tale—climbing to the top offers a panoramic view of the entire landscape. The resting area behind the small tent can be used for displaying products or as a shoe fitting area, offering both functionality and a sense of fun.

Part 03 UPSIDE DOWN & TWIST: The suspended ‘doughnut’ descends from the ceiling, transforming into a resting area. The center of the seating defies gravity, offering inverted support to the ceiling. Soft, warm lighting highlights the contrast between white and orange. It’s a space where one can linger in comfort and embrace the vibrant spirit of childhood.
Children can try on clothes and enjoy educational games, while adults explore moodytiger’s innovative fabrics and choose the perfect activewear for their little ones. Space is the place for brand experience, and this is especially true for the children’s sports brand moody tiger.

Sò Studio draws inspiration from children’s movement patterns, distilling the brand’s philosophy into design language. By exploring various dimensions such as materials, colors, and shapes, the design introduces the tension and playfulness of movement into the static space. This enhances the brand recognition of moodytiger and leaves a lasting impression in the minds of consumers.
