Project Description

[Text as submitted by architect] NK House is a home for two siblings, built on a 100-square-wah plot of land, divided into two separate family homes. One house accommodates three people—father, mother, and child while the other houses two people and their grandmother. Each house has an area of 50 square wah, spanning three floors, with a shared central court space.

The concept of the project is inspired by the childhood memories of the two siblings, who grew up in a traditional wooden house. This design integrates a central open space that reflects those memories and serves as a gathering area for family activities in the traditional Thai style, where multiple generations live together.

Other functional spaces are arranged in a compact manner around the central court. The exterior form of the houses is triangular, with the two houses facing each other in a crosswise orientation to ensure privacy within each unit. At the same time, this layout allows for external views and creates airflow channels between the two homes.
