[Text as submitted by architect] Located in one of Bengaluru’s busiest neighbourhoods, Oasis Brewery reinterprets the microbrewery as a calm urban retreat. The project combines contemporary architecture with a sensitive approach to landscape, integrating mature trees and natural materials to create a relaxed and tactile environment.

The design retains all existing trees on site, organising the built around them to establish the shaded outdoor seating and visual continuity between built and natural elements. The building is positioned on the rear corner to take advantage of the existing trees and to reduce the sound from the busy road and metro line from which the entrance is there. This creates a large foreground before entering and enhances the expectations of the space inside. The architectural language is restrained and modern—defined by clean volumes, muted tones, and a material palette that foregrounds texture and craft.

A linear entrance lobby introduces the subtle opulence of the space. Lit by integrated lines of light, the passage leads visitors toward a marble reception desk framed by a patterned black-and-white stone floor. This sequence sets the tone for a project grounded in material precision and sensory restraint.

Inside, open planning and large openings blur the distinction between indoor and outdoor zones. The main seating area unfolds beneath the tree canopy, furnished with custom-designed pieces in subdued forest tones. Woven textures, brushed metal accents, and soft lighting contribute to a cohesive visual language, while pendant lights suspended from branches establish a warm, atmospheric layer.

The central elliptical bar and the brewing area forms a focal point within the layout. Enclosed in glass, the polished tanks are positioned as both functional equipment and design feature—highlighting the craftsmanship behind the brewing process and reinforcing the project’s emphasis on transparency.

Material selection draws from a palette of natural and earthy tones—balanced by accents of terracotta, oxidised pink, and sage green. The combination of smooth and tactile finishes lends depth and contrast, while the overall composition maintains a sense of calm and balance.

Landscape plays an integral role in defining the spatial experience. Planters, water features, and shaded alcoves soften the built form and create microclimates that encourage comfort and longevity of use. These elements establish what we describe as a sense of “natural luxury,” where material authenticity and spatial restraint evoke a quiet sense of place. The entire outdoor area gets integrated by the water body which is organic in form and is accentuated by the sunken seats inside the water.

Flexible seating typologies—including communal benches, private cabanas, and open patios—accommodate varying scales of interaction. This adaptability allows the brewery to function equally as a social venue and a space for pause.

By integrating architecture, landscape, and craft, Oasis Brewery proposes a new model for urban hospitality in Bengaluru—one that values process, transparency, and material honesty over ornamentation. It attempts to create an Oasis where nature meets calmness and offers tranquillity from the chaos of urban life outside.
