[Text as submitted by architect] An Interior Inspired by Nature and Local Identity: The design of the Forest restaurant interior was created to blend coziness, modernity, and harmony with nature, offering a unique space where culinary enjoyment is the main focus. This project aimed to adapt the casual dining experience for Yekaterinburg, emphasizing local culture and nature.

The core idea centers on local identity, using exclusively local materials and decor. Furniture was crafted by Ural-based manufacturers, supporting the restaurant’s philosophy of using local ingredients. This approach allows the interior to complement the culinary concept, providing a cohesive experience for guests.

A Space for Everyone: The restaurant’s layout includes various seating zones tailored to different visitor needs. A communal table for large groups serves as a central element, symbolizing unity. Cozy seating areas with sofas offer comfort for a relaxed experience, while the bar area appeals to those seeking a quick drink or snack. This range of options ensures that all guests find a comfortable spot, regardless of preference.

Tackling Spatial Challenges: The narrow, elongated layout with high ceilings posed a design challenge. A functional layout was created to enhance guest comfort and staff efficiency. Zoning helped visually “expand” the space, adding both dynamism and warmth. Wooden ceiling elements accentuated the high ceilings, bringing natural charm to the space.

Nature Indoors: Natural motifs are central to the interior, with large windows providing views of the riverside and park, filling the space with light and reinforcing its connection to the outdoors. Wooden slats replace traditional curtains, creating a warm, minimalist feel. Natural materials such as wood, stone, and eco-friendly textiles form the decor’s foundation, enhancing aesthetics while supporting sustainability.

Local Accents: To emphasize local identity, the designers collaborated with regional artisans for unique decor and furniture. This approach highlighted authenticity and supported local producers. Every detail, from lighting to wall decorations, reflects the “local” philosophy, adding individuality to the space.
