The entrance foyer gives a hospitable feel with seating enveloped in leathered sandstone, black polished wood-cut artwork and brown mirror adding an artistic hint. The seating in the living radiates comfort and sophistication, featuring plush upholstery that invites relaxation. Subtle strip detailing adds a refined visual interest harmoniously blending it with contemporary style. The meticulously crafted coffee table, made from dark wood, introduces an element of earthy sophistication.

The teak dining table with rich, natural grain, paired with a sleek marble surface, creates a striking visual anchor for the dining space. The interplay between the table’s solid, organic feel and refined chairs establishes a balanced aesthetics. The brass finished storage unit and common basin adds a hint of luxury to the monotone material palette with a perfect tonal contrast.

Functionality and aesthetics come together seamlessly in the multipurpose room. The shutters, adorned with playful patterns, transform everyday storage solutions into an artistic focal point.

The parent’s bedroom floor is finished in hand-applied Lippan, a traditional art from Kutch that utilizes cow-dung and mud mixture. The unpolished character of the ‘Lipan’ with the cream-washed walls accomplished with the warmth of wood creates a submissive sanctuary. The bathroom flaunts rough stone-cut basin and a cast-in-situ bath that reflects aesthetic of raw elegance while maintaining a mindful respect for natural materials fostering an atmosphere of tranquillity and grounded beauty. “The entire bedroom-bathroom setup embodies principles of simplicity, purity and deep connection to nature, which are also central to the client’s religious philosophy” narrates Ar. Jigar Asarawala.

The son’s bedroom adopts a distinct character with fluid walls, adorned in textured finishes. A robust bed and armchairs with woven upholstery paired with fluted veneer panelling add depth to the room. The kids’ bedroom is a perfect blend of functionality, style and creativity, featuring minimalist shelving offering practical storage with a clutter-free look. The thoughtfully designed bedroom not only supports a child’s evolving needs but also nurtures their imagination, creating a space that feels personal and inspiring.

Spanning the exterior, the deck balcony interconnects spaces and creates a fluid transition between indoor and outdoor living.

“Homeowners, being true connoisseurs of art, have a diverse collection of memorabilia reflecting their deep appreciation for traditional Indian artistry” says Ar. Tarika Asarawala. The home is adorned with layers of bespoke art, avant-garde furniture and hand-woven textiles, blending heritage and modernity.

Each corner at स्व bhaav continues its journey of understated elegance and designers’ skill of blending minimalism with functionality, honouring the clients’ concise brief while staying faithful to the spirit of experimentation. The project is, thus, a testament to how the natural charm can bring unique character to any space.
