This exhibition offers an immersive exploration of the creative process behind the newly designed Uncut Jewellery showroom by architect Shaili Shah Banker. Conceived as a journey through architecture, materiality, and craftsmanship, the exhibition transforms the showroom into a space of discovery, where visitors can engage with the ideas, experiments, and inspirations that shaped both the architect’s practice and the final design.
Spread throughout the showroom, the exhibition features architectural projects, handmade models, material studies, photographs, and personal artefacts that reveal a design approach rooted in making and exploration. Visitors encounter clay and paper models, geometric folding experiments, and process-driven studies that demonstrate how simple materials can evolve into architectural forms and built spaces.

A personal dimension is woven into the exhibition through a collection of ceramic masks created during the architect’s childhood. Raised in a family of makers, Shaili’s early experiences working with clay continue to influence her sculptural approach to architecture, where form is often shaped by hand before it is drawn.
Materiality plays a central role in the exhibition, with displays of carved birch wood studies that invite visitors to explore texture, depth, and craftsmanship through touch. These explorations directly informed the design language of the Uncut showroom, where layered surfaces and carefully crafted details echo the richness and character of uncut jewellery.

An interactive installation further encourages visitors to engage with ideas of transformation and spatial experience, reflecting the showroom’s flexible and evolving display system.
Together, the works on display create a dialogue between architecture and jewellery—two disciplines connected by their shared emphasis on craft, material, and attention to detail. Through models, installations, material experiments, and completed projects, the exhibition provides an intimate glimpse into a design practice shaped by curiosity, tactile exploration, and a deep appreciation for the process of making.
