Filipe Vogt Rodrigues
Born in Lisbon [1977], Filipe grew up in Lisbon, Algiers, Bilbao, and Loulé. He co-founded Atelier Data in 2005. Filipe graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Technical University of Lisbon, in 2002.
He spent four years collaborating with Atelier Troufa Real. Following this, he worked in the Building Management and On-site Fiscalization department for companies such as Ikano Portugal, LS Construções SA, and Incenso Lda, collaborating closely with Alberto Caetano for a year.
Filipe’s educational and professional background includes participation in the program Vector E – Economic Enhancement of Science and Technology, Organization, and Planning of Business for New Technology-Based Companies [2007-2008]. Additionally, he holds a Diploma in Tropical Architecture and completed a workshop in Material Design, Visions for a Possible Future, at the Technical School of Image and Communication [2004]. He also participated as a jury in architectural competitions.
Filipe enjoys interacting with clients, crafting concepts, and translating them into reality.
Ines Maia Vicente
Born in Lisbon [1978], Inês co-founded Atelier Data in 2005. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Technical University of Lisbon in 2003.
Inês has a varied professional background. She has worked with Atelier Atitude Virtual on 3D modeling and film production, and with GOC SA and Claro e Simões on project development and on-site project follow-up.
She has participated in various programs and courses. She completed a Course of Entrepreneurship at Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa in 2008. Additionally, she participated in the Program Vector E – Economic Enhancement of Science and Technology, focusing on organization and business planning for new technology-based companies [2007 to 2008]. Furthermore, she completed an intensive course in Graphic Design at AR.CO – Center for Arts & Visual Communication.
Inês is an expert in studying the legal constraints associated with each project and excels in the detailing phase. Additionally, she loves to explore different software applications.
Marta Mateus Frasao
Born in Covilhã [1978], Marta co-founded Atelier Data in 2005. She earned her PhD from the University of Évora in 2022 with a thesis titled “The Use of Water in Contemporary Rural Design”. She also holds a Master’s degree in Collective Housing from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid [2007] and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Technical University of Lisbon in 2002.
Marta’s professional journey includes two years with Atelier Actar Arquitectura in Barcelona, focusing on project development and theoretical investigations. Then, she spent three years collaborating with Atelier CVDB Arquitectos.
Her commitment to continuous learning is evident through her participation in various workshops, such as “Material Design: Visions for a Possible Future” at the Escola Técnica de Imagem e Comunicação in 2004. She also engaged in an international workshop on “Arquitecturas Necessárias,” promoted by the International University of Catalonia in Barcelona, supporting CVDB architects.
Marta is deeply involved in research, conceptual design, and landscaping within her practice. She is currently teaching in the Architecture Master Degree program at the University of Évora.
Practice Ideology
Atelier Data is a Lisbon-based office founded in 2005 by Filipe Vogt Rodrigues, Inês Maia Vicente, and Marta Mateus Frazão. Its enthusiastic, focused, and skilled team works on a diverse range of projects, including architecture, rehabilitation, urban design, interior design, and landscape architecture.
The studio believes that each project serves as the “engine” of its own research, fostering a critical, creative, and inventive approach. Its diagrammatic and elementary representation is both a result of the design process and a tool for diagnosis, research, and communication of solutions.
Recently, Atelier Data has focused primarily on the domestic field, from small houses to larger housing projects. These endeavors offer a broad scope for experimentation and research. The studio is dedicated to developing unique projects and diverse solutions tailored to each site, context, landscape, program, and budget. Atelier Data offers clients the dedication of a small office combined with the experience of a seasoned team.
The studio has been recognized in numerous competitions, winning several national and international awards. Many of its projects have been widely published and exhibited. Additionally, Atelier Data maintains a regular presence at conferences and seminars and serves on juries for architectural competitions.
