Kunnapat Wongthavornman is an architect who graduated from the School of Architecture and Design, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi with a Bachelor of Architecture. Upon graduation, he sharpened his skills and experience in renowned architectural firms. With a bold and challenging vision to create controversial and creative designs, he founded his own practice, DARE – Design Arena + Research.
Practice Ideology
DARE – Design Arena + Research is an architecture and research practice founded on the belief that design gains value when it is questioned, challenged, and reimagined. We see architecture not as a fixed solution to a brief, but as an evolving arena where ideas, disciplines, and collaborations collide to generate new possibilities.
We challenge conventional thinking, established methods, and predefined boundaries of architectural practice. By moving beyond traditional briefs and disciplinary limits, DARE works collaboratively across fields to uncover creative solutions that respond to complex contemporary conditions.
Our work is driven by curiosity and an open mindset—looking at the world through fresh perspectives that welcome risk and experimentation. We embrace bold and controversial design as a means to provoke dialogue, push boundaries, and expand the role of architecture in society.
Rooted in research on materiality, craftsmanship, and space, our work reflects a deep respect for users, communities, and the environment, while daring to provoke, question, and reimagine architecture’s role today.
