Practice Ideology
When we were kids, we built worlds out of sticks and cardboard, towers from cushions, bridges from planks, and kingdoms from playgrounds. Now we’re older, but still just as wild. The materials have changed, the tools have grown sharper, and the stakes have become real. Yet that same spark – the childlike curiosity, imagination, and the joy of building – still drives us.
That’s RABAGAST: keeping creativity alive while learning how to build for real.
RABAGAST is a student architecture office from the course Design in Context at NTNU, Trondheim. It consists of 16 master’s students from Norway, France, Spain, Belgium, Finland and Austria. Throughout the autumn of 2025, RABAGAST has worked with real clients to design real buildings – taking on projects in both familiar and unfamiliar contexts, at home and abroad.
Bringing together diverse backgrounds that span countries, cultures, languages, and educations, our goal has been to create designs that respond to, enhance, and uplift their individual contexts.
