Ar. Amal Thomas
Born and raised in Kochi, Kerala, Ar. Amal completed his schooling in the city before earning a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree from BMS School of Architecture, Bengaluru, in 2019. Following his graduation, he gained valuable experience working with several architectural firms in Bengaluru. In 2023, he established TNC in Kochi, marking the beginning of his independent practice. Since its inception, TNC has undertaken a diverse range of projects across Kerala and Bengaluru.
Practice Ideology
The design practice at TNC is an approach that tends most towards local geographical and cultural context. Architecture, to us, is problem-solving. A spatial problem that is brought to us by a client in need of a professional who can solve it. We believe that this solution must prioritise the utilisation of whatever advantages/disadvantages are offered by the location of a project, as well as the needs of its users. This involves resisting temporary trends and opting for spaces and materials that work with the local geography and culture. With this we aim to create architecture that withstands the test of time and value.
