Rather than a heavy and solid building, it aims to create a flexible and lightweight space that encourages diverse user experiences.
The site possesses a strong sense of place, defined by an existing historic stone building and mature trees that embody the passage of time. In response, the design adopts a strategy of “insertion” rather than domination, positioning the pavilion carefully within the existing context.
It is placed at a measured distance from the existing structure, establishing a natural relationship with the trees, the courtyard, and established circulation paths.
