About Competition
The Civic Kiosk invites architects and designers to rethink one of the most familiar elements of the urban landscape: the traditional newsstand. Once a vital hub for information, culture and everyday social interaction, the kiosk now faces an uncertain future in the digital age
Participants are also invited to redesign the kiosk itself, exploring new forms, materials, spatial configurations and architectural identities. How does a 21st-century kiosk look, operate and transform throughout the day?
With complete freedom to choose the site anywhere in the world, participants are asked to en-vision innovative solutions capable of transforming a forgotten urban typology into a new land-mark for civic life.
