About Competition
The Valli Wine Tasting Room competition invites architects and designers to envision a contemporary wine tasting space for Valli Unite, an agricultural cooperative located in the rural hills of Piedmont, northern Italy. Surrounded by vineyards, cultivated fields, and rolling valleys, the competition explores how architecture can strengthen the relationship between wine culture, hospitality, sustainability, and the landscape through a modest and carefully integrated architectural intervention.
Participants are challenged to design a small-scale tasting room extension connected to the existing wine storage facility while responding sensitively to the cooperative’s philosophy of environmental responsibility, simplicity, and collective rural living. The competition encourages proposals that balance architecture, atmosphere, and sustainability while creating meaningful experiences for visitors engaging with the culture of natural wine production.
The competition offers a total prize fund of 10,000 €, with winning proposals selected by an international jury of architects and industry professionals. Final registration closes on January 14, 2027, while competition winners will be announced on March 30, 2027.
