Festival des Architectures Vives 2025

Information

The Festival des Architectures Vives is an architectural tour in Montpellier since 2006, allowing visitors to explore iconic sites and connect with the city’s rich heritage through installations scattered throughout the city. The event takes place in the heart of the historic city, linking private mansions and interior courtyards, mostly private, which are not usually visible to visitors. Each installation by architects showcases the work of a younger generation, who propose, invent, experiment, and explore new areas of environmental design. The festival opens a dialogue between heritage architecture and contemporary installations.

The 2025 Festival of Lively Architecture opens with a delicious theme: Gluttony .

Gluttony, usually associated with the pleasure of the taste buds, will be revealed in an architectural dimension where materials, shapes, and spaces will be transformed into a true celebration of desire. Far from being a simple sin, gluttony becomes a vector of creativity and innovation. In architecture, it translates into immersive spatial experiences where every detail is designed to pique curiosity and the desire to discover. The installations will awaken the desire to be explored, tasted with the eyes, and savored with the mind.
