The outcome of Group 3 for Stage 4 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA focuses on curating the program and network of urban space.
The outcome of Group 2 for Stage 4 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA focuses on curating the program and network of urban space.
Stage 4 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA focuses on the theme dealing with the Program, its Distribution, Vehicular and pedestrian network, Urban open spaces, and Urban edges. The set of rules and strategies derived under these topics (‘theme’) helps the group to work out a master plan (‘scheme’) for the site.
Stage 3 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA focuses on analyzing the site to understand the elements forming an urban tissue of Kadak Bazaar
Stage 3 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA focuses on analyzing the site to understand the elements forming an urban tissue of Kadak Bazaar
Stage 3 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA focuses on mapping the site to understand the elements that form an urban tissue of Kadak Bazaar.
Stage 2 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA focuses on understanding the larger context of the site, Vadodara City. The study included History & various stages of growth, Topography & Climate, Trade & commerce, Key Institutions, People, Projected growth, and Services & Transportation.
The inferences of Exercise 1 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA finds how the traditional markets act as a public space, the integration of formal and informal market, and the layers that form the market.
Exercise 1 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA intended to analyze the urban space by understanding movement, activity, and density of market and mall at different times of the day.
Exercise 1 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA intended to physically map the activities, zoning, context, typologies, and pedestrian movement of Mangal Bazaar, Vadodara.
Exercise 1 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA is intended to experientially map the activities and human life of Mangal Bazaar, Vadodara.
Exercise 1 of Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA is intended to physically and experientially map the site to analyze the bazaar of Vadodara.
Urban Design Studio-2017 of SEDA focuses on the new ‘bazaar/mall’ typology that is relevant in today’s Indian context. Also, understanding the ways in which this new typology can be made a part of the city’s fabric.
Exhibition of the works of CEPT University and Navrachna University have been curated revolving around Abstraction related to the design process.
CEPT studio III proceeds to Stage 3 to understand various possible ways the program can be interpreted with the help of second-stage models. Students are working on four programs: meditation hall, gas station, observation deck, and pedestrian bridge. Each function has a unique and distinct character, which needs to be understood and explored in the third stage.
‘Building Materials and Joinery’ is an introductory course in construction for the first-year architecture students at CEPT. The course aims to give an idea of all the prevalent building construction materials and joinery in the same materials.
A joint review between the two studios was organized between the students of Navrachana Architecture College and CEPT University. During the second stage, students explored various model-making materials for the selected first-stage models. The second stage intended to allow the form to change as per the demand for new material.
CEPT studio III proceeds to Stage 2 to modify the models by changing model-making materials as Form is the result of the material. The intention is not to imitate the exact form in different materials. Let the form change, if material demands.
Navrachna studio III proceeds to Stage 2 to modify the models by changing model-making materials as Form is the result of the material. Instead of forcing an existing form on the new material, the form should adapt to the new material. This stage will open-up new directions in the process by adding another layer of abstraction.
The students of CEPT studio III has now started attempting the abstract models with clarity of the relation with the topic. The best idea is to show the image and the abstraction to someone else, and take their opinion without explaining the model.
Building Materials and Joinery, the course in the Faculty of Architecture, CEPT, mainly aims to understand the contribution of building materials and joinery in making architecture. It focuses on system, joinery, form of material, properties of material and its expression in architecture.
The new semester at Navrachana started with a time problem, after which ‘Abstraction,’ which will go on till mid-semester. The trick is to capture the topic’s essence and express it through model, without imitating the object’s shape.
The students of CEPT University tried to understand the topic by capturing the essence and expressing it through either sketch or model. The idea here was not to conduct a scientific analysis; but rather observe the form or the changes in form during motion.
