The Shield – Mantory Exclusive, designed by Landmak Architecture, is a showroom to display and introduce the products with the spirit of Mantory. The exterior is shaped as a gently shield, likely melting into the around scene. The language of mechanical design inspired the texture. This work was renovated and converted a functional part consisting of second floors (with balcony) to become exhibit space for Mantory products where we call The Shield.

The Tiing | Nic Brunsdon

The Tiing, designed by Nic Brunsdon, is a boutique resort embedded into its local and cultural context as a ‘reward for the intrepid.’ Due to its remote location, the design deliberately leans on traditional materials and construction techniques, while providing a robust conceptual framework. Knowing that concrete is the preferred construction method of Bali, and that bamboo is plentiful, a series of bamboo formed concrete walls were erected on site to create in-between and inside conditions, framing the mountains and the sea.

The House of Courtyards | andblack + Modo designs

The House of Courtyards, designed by the architectural firm AndBlack, is a residence organized through a series of open courts. The central open courtyard reinterprets the traditional haveli houses of old city of Ahmedabad, with semi open passage around it. The unique feature is entry court and  the central courtyard dense plantations that encourages use of outdoor space. The house alternates between an inward and outward oriented organization with spaces opening inward into the court as well as outward into the front and rear gardens.

Termalija Family Wellness | Enota Architects

Termalija Family Wellness, designed by ENOTA, transforms the spa complex with the solution found in scale and form of surrounding vernacular structures. Viewed from a distance, the shape, colour, and scale of new clustered structure of tetrahedral volumes is a continuation of the cluster of surrounding rural buildings, which visually extends into the heart of the complex. Despite its size and the space it occupies, the new roof simply acts as a big summertime sunshade and does not usurp any of the precious exterior space.

El Porvenir Children Center | Taller Sintesis

El Porvenir Children Center is an institution designed by the architectural firm Taller sintesis in the municipality of Rionegro, Antioquia. It is a single-level brick building made up of a series of vaulted pavilions. These vaulted pavilions house the classrooms that have a direct link with a series of courtyards. This allows adequate ventilation and lighting but also enables a direct relationship between the children and nature, giving the landscape a permanent presence in the educational spaces and enabling the effective integration of the classrooms with nature.
